The recipe for the cake base is my green tea sponge cake and it’s layered with vanilla ice cream. So get yourself a good tub of ice cream, and create heaps of space in the freezer, and you are good to go!
Whether you believe it or not Hillary, this is my first time making a full chocolate border as a deco. You are gonna need a really long piece of non-stick baking paper and work really quickly so the chocolate does not set before you wrap it around the cake. Enjoy!
thanks! sorry for the late reply. No…i spread the chocolate onto a baking parchment. allowed it to settle a little so it doesn’t drip all over when i lift it off, then immediately wrapped it around the cake. The coolness of the ice cream sets the chocolate almost immediately.
I came accross your blog while looking for an idea for a green tea ice cream cake. I like the way you decorated your cake…very very nice. My question is have you ever tried a dark chocolate instead of white. If you do, how well does it go with green tea taste?
